Just after 7am on Tuesday August 19, police were called to a home on Williams Street, Broken Hill.
Barrier Police District officers were told between 11.30pm on Monday August 18 and 7am on Tuesday August 19, an unknown person allegedly forced entry into a home before stealing a number of personal items along with cash before leaving the scene.
Police established a crime scene and began an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, about 1.15pm today; Wednesday August 20, police arrested a 36-year-old man on Chloride Street, Broken Hill.
Police searched the man allegedly locating and seizing a small amount of drugs – believe to be methylamphetamine.
He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – people there, possess prohibited drug, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 tomorrow Thursday August 21.
