Search operations continue for missing paddleboarder at Lake Cargelligo

A multi-agency search is currently underway following reports of a missing paddleboarder at Lake Cargelligo.

The search was sparked on Saturday, January 17, when emergency services, including officers from the Central West Police District, the Rural Fire Service, and NSW Ambulance, were called to the Lake Street boat ramp at approximately 3:00 PM.

Witnesses reported that a 41-year-old man fell from his paddleboard and failed to resurface.

While search crews have successfully recovered the paddleboard, the man has not yet been located.

Local authorities are coordinating extensively to cover both the water and the surrounding shoreline.

Residents in the neighbouring LGAs who may have been visiting the lake over the weekend are encouraged to assist police with any relevant sightings.

The search remains a recovery and rescue operation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information, or anyone who may have been at the Lake Street boat ramp around the time of the incident, to come forward.
