About 12:15pm on Friday the 14th of March 2025 officers attached to Hay Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle for roadside testing. The male driver was a 28 year old Coffs Harbour resident, the driver failed the road side drug test, after concluding the test police spoke to him where they established cause to search the vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle police located several different drugs within the vehicle including cannabis, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), MDMA, LSD as well as a large amount of unknown tablets.
The 28 year old male was arrested and taken to Hay Police station where he was charged with 3 counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable <commercial quantity and 1 count of possess prohibited drug. Police are also awaiting the results of the unknown tablets and the oral fluid results.
The man was granted conditional bail and ordered to surrender his passport, he is required to appear at Hay local court at a later date.
