The Roy Orbison Story comes to life at Griffith Regional Theatre

Get your tickets ready, the Roy Orbison Story is coming to Griffith Regional Theatre on Friday August 15.

The tribute to one of the most iconic crooners of his era, this poignant tribute to the man, the music and the unmistakable voice by acclaimed performer Mark Shelley honours the legend’s extraordinary vocal range and timeless hits.

The show features all the classics fans know and love, including Only the Lonely, Running Scared, Sweet Dream Baby, Candy Man, Pretty Woman and many more.

Don’t miss your chance to relive the golden days of classic rock.

Roy Orbison, nicknamed "The Big O", was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his powerful, emotive voice, complex song structures, and dark, emotional ballads.

He achieved significant success in the early 1960s with hits like "Only the Lonely", "Crying", and "Oh, Pretty Woman".

His career saw a resurgence in the late 1980s with the supergroup Traveling Wilburys and a new solo album.

Tragically, on December 6, 1988, Orbison died of a heart attack at his mother's home in Hendersonville, Tennessee; he was 52 years old.

Bruce Springsteen wisely observed, 'Everyone knows no one sings like Roy Orbison'.

Tickets can be purchased from the Box Office, by calling 6962 8444 or visiting www.griffithregionaltheatre.com.au
