The weekend of February 7, 8 and 9 was a raving success, as the Riverina Classic Catch and Release Fishing competition reeled in over 800 keen anglers from around the district.
An impressive total of 1418 fish were caught; 1138 Murray cod, 87 silver perch, 20 yellow belly, and 173 carp.
Fishers trawled the Murrumbidgee between Gogeldrie Weir and the Carrathool Bridge, and sent in happy snaps of their biggest catches.
Over $20,000 was raised and donated to Rural Outreach Counselling Inc.
Money will also be allocated to restocking the river with fingerlings.
Organisers were over the moon with the 12th successful event, noting it is a wholesome family weekend which raises a good amount of funds for a terrific cause.
