The team at Hay Milk and Perishable Products Distributors is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable day-to-day manager for our Hay based operation.

We are the proud suppliers of Dairy Farmers (Bega) milk and dairy products and other perishable and grocery products to retailers (supermarkets, cafes, restaurants) and service industries (motels, service stations).


The successful applicant will work to lead our existing team to provide exceptional customer service to our clients within Hay and in the wider region.


Specifically the role will include:

Overall business operations

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the business

• Upholding and promoting the positive reputation of Hay Milk

• Connecting with the wider service vision and values of our business and clients.

• Staff supervision (current employees include local delivery driver, Ivanhoe delivery driver, administration assistant part time)

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable and debtor control

• Learn all facets of day-to-day operation to provide relief where required

• The ability to liaise with our suppliers in a friendly, efficient manner


Pricing and stock control

• review and assess profitability of individual customers and individual products

• overseeing stock control including ordering and stocktakes

• responsibility for customer records

• manage delivery schedules

 

Compliance and quality assurance

• Maintaining safety and compliance requirements including fatigue management, vehicle safety and maintenance, food handling and hygiene requirements and temperature controls

• Overseeing depot upkeep and maintenance to required standards, including keeping

accurate records

• Leading staff in following procedures to ensure our quality products are delivered safely and on time as required.


 Position details

Minimum class C licence required, however HR licence, or willingness to obtain, would be preferred, along with forklift licence or willingness to obtain. This position is initially for 25 hours per week for the right person with salary determined according to experience based on the Storage Services and Wholesale Award. Potential for additional hours in busy times or for staff relief. Introductory training and support willbe provided to the successful applicant.
