Inquiries continue after a man died following an alleged stabbing in the state’s west last week.

Just after 11.50pm on Thursday June 5, emergency services were called to a home on Duff Street, Broken Hill, following reports of a concern for welfare.


On arrival, officers attached to Barrier Police District located a 36-year-old man with stab wounds.


He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived.


A crime scene was established and officers attached to Barrier Police District, with the assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident.


A 12-year-old boy is assisting police with inquiries into the circumstances leading up to the death of the 36-year-old man.


Police intend to seek legal advice in relation to the matter, and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.


No charges have been laid at this time.


Investigations continue under Strike Force Cardup.
