A man has died following a crash in the state’s west.

About 4pm Sunday March 16, emergency services were called to Barrier Highway, Broken Hill following a two-vehicle crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Barrier Police District found a truck and car crash.

The passenger of the car, a man believed to be aged in his 40's, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however he died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a female believed to be aged in her 30’s, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Broken Hill Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

She will undergo mandatory testing.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
