The Council welcomes news that it will receive $10,000 from the NSW Government for the Ivanhoe War Memorial Restoration project.
The work will address preservation risks and ensure the long-term protection of the memorial.
Key works include repairing deteriorating concrete, upgrading fencing, and implementing measures to prevent damage to the memorial from water, trimmers, and mowers in the surrounding grassed areas.
Minor landscaping will also be undertaken.
The grant money comes from the Department of Communities and Justice’s Community War Memorials Fund.
Ivanhoe is one of 14 war memorials in NSW that will be receiving funding under the grant.
Without this grant money the project would not be possible.
The work will be completed within the next 12 months.
