Sadly, organisations and businesses in the small town of Menindee have been experiencing break ins of late.
Menindee pharmacy was broken into recently, this being far from the first time.
The NSW Rural Fire Service shed was also broken into, prompting an outcry from the organisation on social media.
“It is a disgrace,” the fire service commented on their Facebook page. “Community funds, which are often thin on the ground are being wasted on fixing critical equipment and sorting this mess.”
It was said on a Menindee group Facebook page that the people who broke into the pharmacy can ‘smile for the cameras’ next time.
In any part of anywhere, break ins and crime are terrible on many levels. But in a very small isolated community, such as Menindee, the upset, heartache and ramifications can spread even wider. People work hard to have these resources, especially in isolated places, often the resources they do have come from community effort and many hours of volunteering.
If you have any information about either incident, come forward to the relevant authorities.
