Body found after search of Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point

The body of a man has been located during the search for a missing swimmer in the Murrumbidgee River.


Australia Day afternoon, a 37 year old man fell from a recreational floating device towed behind a boat on the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point.


When he didn't resurface and could not be found, emergency services were notified.


Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District responded, as well as NSW Ambulance, State Emergency Service (SES) and Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA).


A search began, and was later suspended to begin again 7.30am yesterday, with NSW Police divers attending.


The search then began again at 7.30am Tuesday, again involving NSW Police, SES and VRA.


The body of a man was found shortly after.


The body was recovered, and a crime scene was established.


A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
