Before You Go:
As the skipper, you're responsible for safety of the vessel and people on board. Be prepared to keep everyone safe and enjoy time on the water.
- Give the boat a check over, and be sure there are enough life jackets for all passengers.
- Be aware of weather conditions, including wind speed, and potential storms and water conditions.
- Inspect Your Boat: Ensure your boat is in good working condition, including the engine, electrical systems, and safety equipment.
- Be sure you let a friend or family member know of your boating plans, including your departure time, destination, and expected return time.
- Ensure you know the rules, and what to do in the event of an emergency.
On the Water:
