Connie Mallet from Balranald Shire Council shared recently photos detailing the progress of the extension pavilion to the Visitor Information Centre as part of the Discovery Centre precinct upgrade.
"To date the concrete slab and steel framing have been installed and the roofing has also been installed," Connie said.
"The window and wall cladding are next to be installed and the project is running on schedule. By the time the project is completed in December 2024 there will be some lovely inclusions in the new pavilion and around the grounds that will help to make the Discovery Centre precinct an even more attractive attraction and stop for visitors and a beautiful space for our residents."
The $950,000 investment in the Discovery Centre tourist precinct will result in a new building which will adjoin the Visitor Information Centre and Museum as well as a full upgrade of the technical equipment in the award winning Interpretive Pavilion.
The new building aims provide a space for further promotion of the wonderful tourism attractions that Balranald Shire has on offer and help attract more visitors to the region and boost the local and regional visitor economy.
