After weeks of speculation, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called the 2025 federal election for May 3.

This will be an election for all 150 House of Representatives seats and 40 of the 76 senators (a normal House and half-Senate election).

In Farrer the seat held by coalition deputy leader Sussan Ley, two other candidates have emerged: independent Michelle Milthorpe and Labor's Glen Hyde.

Parkes electorate is currently held by the Nationals Mark Coulton, who has previously indicated he will not stand in this election.

Jamie Chaffey has already been pre-selected at the Nationals candidate, to contest the seat.
