Rankins springs: a birdwatching paradiseRankins Springs Park

Many locals recognise Rankins Springs for their facilities during a long road trip, but little know that it is a haven for birdwatchers, with designated bird hides strategically placed throughout the area. The surrounding district is home to a diverse range of bird species, including the iconic Glossy Black Cockatoo, Superb Parrot, and Major Mitchell Cockatoo.

The town offers essential amenities like a pub, general store, post office, caravan park, motel, service station, and gallery. Visitors can enjoy picnics, relax in shady parks, and stock up on supplies at the general store and service station. The Conapaira Hotel is a popular spot for a meal or drink. For overnight stays, there's a caravan park and motel.

The town also boasts a well-maintained recreation ground and a nine-hole golf course.

Cocoparra National Park, located approximately 45 kilometers south, offers opportunities for bushwalking, picnicking, nature study, and photography.

Consider exploring the area or spending the night next time you pass through.
