Just after 4.20pm on Sunday March 23, emergency services were called to a licensed premises on Lachlan Street, Hay, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were told a 25-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by another man with a pool cue.
The 25-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Griffith Base Hospital for further treatment.
Following inquiries, about 5.10pm on the same day, police arrested the 55-year-old man at a home on MacGregor Street, Hay.
He was taken to Hay Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding, common assault, and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear at Griffith Local Court on Monday March 24, 2025.
At a court hearing held on Monday the 55-year old was released on strict bail conditions and must front Hay Police Station three days a week, submit to drug and alcohol testing and not enter any licenced premised.
The man will next appear at Hay Court on June 2, 2025.
