Alleged offender refused bail following Hillston assault

Alleged offender remains in custody following weekend Hillston assault.


Reilson Mera was formally refused bail when he appeared by video link at a bail hearing in Wagga Wagga today.

35-year-old Mr Mera has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, following an alleged assault which occurred in High Street, Hillston on Saturday evening (November 30, 2024).

Police were called following reports of an assault on a 37-year-old.

The older man was treated at the scene before he was taken to Hillston Hospital.

He was later transported to Griffith Hospital in a critical condition.


Mr Mera will next appear at Griffith Local Court on January 29, 2025.
