Central Darling Shire Council has resolved to amend its venue hire agreement, specifically impacting private functions at the Wilcannia Hall.

A condition has been added stating that Council will not be taking higher hiring bookings at Wenya Hall for private functions for birthdays and personal celebration events if alcohol is involved.

This decision follows a recent hire where the bond taken did not adequately cover cleaning and damages, particularly in instances where alcohol was present.

Additionally, the General Manager has been authorised to reject any hire applications for council venues based on their merits if there is potential for damage to the facility.
