The issue originally came to light in November following a power outage in the region.
In response to the situation, a letter was sent to Mr. Roy Butler seeking support for funding for the upgrade.
Mr. Butler, in turn, forwarded this request to the Minister for Emergency Services, the Honourable Jihad Dib.
However, the response received indicated that no funding was currently available for the generator upgrade.
The decision on funding is pending the findings from an inquiry being conducted by the committee of environment planning.
This inquiry is specifically looking into what is required for power outages in the far west.
Council members noted that this inquiry had only recently wrapped up.
Consequently, the situation regarding the White Cliffs generator upgrade is described as a matter of "wait and watch this space".
The community and council now await the outcomes of the inquiry to understand potential future funding possibilities.
