Time to design the $20 million Cultural Flows Planning for Cultural Economies Program

The Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is calling for First Nations people to help design the Cultural Flows Planning for Cultural Economies Program.

"We’re working with First Nations in the Murray–Darling Basin to design the $20 million Cultural Flows Planning for Cultural Economies Program," a spokesperson said.

"The program aims to support Basin Nations to prepare Cultural flows plans for the spiritual, Cultural, environmental, social, and economic benefit of their Nation.

"In designing the program, we want to hear from Basin First Nations on activities and expenditure that should or should not be funded."

To have your say the government has created an online survey.

"If you would prefer to share your feedback with us face-to-face, please contact us at [email protected]," the spokesperson said.

"We will try to accommodate all meeting requests."

Consultation closes at 5pm (AEDT) on November 18 2024.

Applications for funding through the grants program are expected to open in early 2025.
