Sturt Highway closed east of Euston

A collision between a truck and pedestrian has closed the Sturt Highway.


Before 9am today (Tuesday December 31, 2024) a collision, reportedly between a truck and pedestrian, has closed the Sturt Highway in both directions.

The incident occurred near Meilman Road, east of Euston and emergency services are at the scene.

Ongoing Police investigations are expect3ed to take some time.


Road diversions:

From Balranald: Sturt Hwy, Mallee Hwy, Yanga Way, Lea St, Tooleybuc Rd, then Murray Valley Hwy to Robinvale/Euston.

From Euston/Robinvale: Murray Valley Hwy, Tooleybuc Rd, Lea St, Yanga Way, Mallee Hwy, then Sturt Hwy to Balranald.

This diversion is suitable for all vehicles up to and including 26m B-doubles. Allow plenty of extra travel time.

Road trains can consider diverting via Ivanhoe and Broken Hill. This route adds at least 6 hours of additional travel time. Information about approved routes for all road trains can be found on the NHVR website.
