Register for tomorrow's Passport to Health in Balranald

Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service is on the road to Balranald.

They are holding a 'Passport to Better Health' session at Greenham Park Hall in Church Street.

From 10am to 12pm, if you follow all the steps involved in the program you get a free t-shirt.

Registration for the event closes on 11.30 am on the day; May 7.

The "Passport to Better Health" program in NSW was modeled after the NSW Health One Deadly Step program.

It aims to improve access to local health services for Aboriginal communities and educate them on chronic diseases by offering mini health assessments, Tackling Indigenous Smoking.

The program's core goal is to enhance access to local health services for Aboriginal community members, particularly those in their own communities.

It draws inspiration from the NSW Health One Deadly Step program, which is a broader initiative focused on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people.

The program actively engages local service providers to participate in the initiative, making it a community-based effort.

Passport to Better Health incorporates educational components, educating Aboriginal communities about the health effects of chronic diseases through mini health assessments.
