Lock up: Police issue warning following Piper Street vehicle stolen

About 2.15am on Monday, August 25, a group of unknown persons entered a number of unlocked vehicles on Piper Street and took numerous items, including wallets and cash.

The unknown persons then entered a house on Piper Street which was unoccupied at the time.

The persons have obtained a set of car keys which has allowed them access to a 2013 Toyota Kluger parked in the driveway.

This vehicle has been driven away from the scene and is currently listed as stolen.

Police are currently investigating the matter, and do not believe the offenders are from the Hay township.

Police are requesting any members of the public who may have any information about this matter or CCTV to contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police would like to remind the public the importance of locking and securing your property and vehicles and ensuring valuable items such as wallets, vehicle keys and garage remotes aren’t visible from outside your home or stored near entrances.
