A grassfire at Madman's Beach, Hay will be monitored over coming days.

A small fire reported at Madman's Beach, at the eastern end of Leonard Street, Hay was attended this morning (Tuesday, October 29) by emergency services.

Members of Fire and Rescue NSW and Hay Rural Fire Service (RFS) responded to the report around 7.45am.

"There is a smoldering tree, but it is in the centre of a cleared, burned out area," an RFS spokesperson said.

"There is water surrounding the smoldering area, making it difficult to get a truck in to extiguish it, so we will allow it to burn itself out.

"It is contained.

"It will probably smolder for several days, but we will continue to monitor it."
