Hay service station renos date set

The site of the former Royce Curtis and Treloars service stations in Lachlan Street, Hay, will kick off the new year with a complete renovation.

According to developer Michael Badaoui of Badaoui Group Pty Ltd works on the mid Lachlan Street site will commence in late January.

“The service station will be owned and operated by Pearl Energy, and branded Mobil,” Mr Badaoui told The Riverine Grazier.

“Pearl Energy currently operates in excess of 150 service stations and their business model is to discount the fuel, so the people of Hay will benefit from increased competition.”

The site has not operated as a fuel station for many years, and will undergo a complete revamp, to include drive through service and new construction.

The approval of the development application was given by Hay Shire Council at the September meeting of Council, which was attended by Mr Badaoui.

The development application was not without local objections, with some fearing noise disruptions for nearby motels, and traffic issues in the town’s main street.
