Griffith man arrested after 48 tyres slashed in overnight rampage

A 29-year-old Griffith man has been charged after allegedly slashing the tyres of 13 vehicles parked along a residential street in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police allege the man damaged a total of 48 tyres on cars parked on Banna Avenue, Griffith, around 3.15am on October 28.

Murrumbidgee Police executed a search warrant at an address on Binya Street, Griffith, at 1.10pm on Wednesday, October 29, where the man was arrested.

During the search, officers seized several items of clothing that police allege were worn by the man during the offences. The man was taken to Griffith Police Station and charged with 13 counts of destroy or damage property.

He was refused bail by police and appeared before Parramatta Bail Court on Wednesday, October 30. The matter will return to court at a later date.
