About 4.35pm on Friday October 17, officers from the Barrier Police District responded to reports of an armed robbery upon a financial institution in Darling Street, Wentworth, approximately 260km south of Broken Hill.
Police were informed that a man entered the business allegedly armed with a pole making threats towards staff and customers.
The man left the site with a sum of cash, last seen running west along Adelaide Street. There were no injuries reported. Officers established a crime scene and began investigating the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested as he left a bus at the Darling Street and Armstrong Avenue intersection in Dareton, about 4.30pm yesterday October 31.
He was taken to Dareton Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.
The man was refused bail to appear at Court on a later date.
