Fatal aircraft crash in North West NSW

Emergency services have responded to a fatal aircraft crash in the state’s North West.


About 7.15am today Tuesday April 15, emergency services responded to reports of an aircraft crash at an airstrip on White Cliffs Aerodrome Road, White Cliffs.

The male pilot of the aircraft died at the scene, with the body yet to be formally identified. 

Inquiries indicate the man was the sole occupant of the aircraft.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District, along with NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW State Emergency Service, were deployed to the scene.

Police have secured a crime scene and, with assistance from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

Investigations continue.
