Central Darling Shire Council has endorsed its draft Drought Management Plan4 . The council will now consult with key government agencies as outlined in the plan's communications section . However, concerns remain regarding water restrictions in Wilcannia.

While water restrictions were recently lifted in Wilcannia, the operations manager cautioned that if the lack of rainfall persists in the coming month, the council may need to consider reinstating them . The council resolved to receive and note the water and sewer update.

Central Darling Shire Council has awarded tenders for the supply and delivery of water meters and for the Wilcannia water treatment plant.

Following a confidential session, it was resolved that the tenderers representing the best value would be awarded the water meter contract as panel source suppliers for the period of April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2027, with a potential 12-month extension based on satisfactory performance.

The tender for the Wilcannia water treatment plant was awarded to SNG Engineering Pty Ltd.

The General Manager has been delegated the authority to execute the necessary contract administration documents that do not require the Common Seal of Council.
