Health Infrastructure is building a new Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIPU) and refurbishing the Emergency Department (ED) at Broken Hill Hospital to better meet the health needs of the Broken Hill community now and into the future.

Please be advised that construction work will take place on Sunday November 2 and Sunday November 9 between 7.30am and 3.30pm at the Emergency Department site.

This work is outside the REF condition working hours and has been approved.

This essential work will have no direct impact on patients or visitors, however some additional noise and vibration can be expected. Infection control and dust control measures will be in place throughout.

"All construction activities are carried out with the health and safety of the local community as our top priority. We thank you for your patience while we complete this important project."
