Landini is lobbying for the formation of a new Riverina state that breaks away completely from NSW.
Having unsuccessfully campaigned for the seat of Murray in both the 2019 and 2023 state elections, Landini is emphatically warning if the expanse beyond the Great Dividing Range doesn’t break off and form their own government a lot of state-owned government services will vanish.
“At the moment, even towns like Hay, for example, a lot of their patients are now transported into Wagga Base Hospital. What that’s done is lead to a decline in the Hay Hospital,” he said.
The submission to register a party called The Riverina State comprised a list of 1646 members and was submitted on October 17. It will be processed in the coming months.
