The Liberal Party met today, Friday February 13, and voted XX to XX to elect Angus Taylor as the leader of the Party.
Mr Taylor replaces Member for Farrer Sussan Ley, who served as the Party's first female leader for a nine-month term.
To commence the proceedings Party members voted in favour of a spill motion 33 votes to 17, with one informal vote recorded.
Only two nominations for the leadership role were received: Incumbent leader Sussan Ley and challenger Angus Taylor.
The leadership vote that followed saw 34 votes in favour of Mr Taylor, with Ms Ley receiving 17 votes.
Mr Taylor is the Federal Member for the electorate of Hume in New South Wales.
He has represented the seat since he was first elected in 2013.
The electorate is located on the outskirts of southwestern Sydney and covers a mix of rural and provincial areas, including parts of Camden, Wollondilly, and Goulburn.
