Successful ram sales at Caroonboon and East Loddon

Ram sales in the Hay region are in full swing.

At Caroonboon the top priced ram reached $5,500 and East Loddon achieved almost a full clearance, with 113 head sold.

Fifty-five head of Caroonboon rams were offered in the stud’s sixth annual on property sale.

Stock sold to a high of $5,500 for Lot 1, and an average of $1,752. The sale marked the first anniversary of management of Caroonboon for husband and wife team Georgie and Derrym Meddings. The pair took on the management of the family property last year, following in the footsteps of Georgie’s mother Margie Pye and brother Sandy.

“Twelve months on, we are settled in and actively managing the day to day operations of Caroonboon, the Merino stud and the commercial flock,” Ms Meddings said.

113 of the total 114 yarding sold last Thursday, to an average of $2077.43. Lots 20 and 99 topped the sale, with both rams reaching $4750.
