Rapper posts about Balranald racial slur

Australian rapper Briggs (Adam Briggs) posted a message to fans on Sunday evening, of a racial slur that occurred Balranald.

Adam Briggs, who performs as Briggs and self-describes as Senator Briggs (although not a member of the Australian Senate), is an Aboriginal Australian rapper, record label owner, comedy writer, actor, and author.

On his social media platforms, Briggs posted a story, describing an incident that occurred at an unnamed motel in the town.

Briggs was travelling with a family member and claims a woman made a racial slur when they were checking in at reception.

"While we're checking into this motel a woman wanders into reception and says 'Welcome to BOONGranald!' I did ask if she in fact had said 'BOONGranald,' she sheepishly confirmed," the post read.

"Instant refund. The year is 2024."

Briggs is well known for his stance on the recent Voices to Parliament referendum, where he led a vocal Yes campaign, and his stance on the lowering the age of children's imprisonment.

Briggs has been contacted for comment.
