Both Ivanhoe Roosters women’s and men’s teams lost their matches, and will meet Rankins Springs and Narrandera in the preliminary final, next week, at home at Sahara Oval.
The all-female refereeing team of Savera Tanuvasa, Mischa Papendrea and Lusiana Isaia made history, as the first female officiated game in ProTen’s history.
The Roosters men’s side went down in a nail-biter, with the Rams closely snatching the two-point win, in front of the Barellan home crowd.
In contrast, Narandera Lizards easily accounted for Rankins Springs, in a dominating win, with Kane Simpson crossing for two tries. Ivanhoe will need to dig deep to overcome the Lizards recent good form.
In the women’s matches Hillston bowed out of the running, after going down by six points to Rankins Springs.
Ivanhoe Hens loss to Barellen means they now meet the Rankins Springs Dragons, and will be hoping the Sahara Oval advantage will tip the game in their favour.
The Rams Madison Morris scored a hat trick of tries in the dominate win.
