On Sunday March 30, Broken Hill police became aware of a series of videos posted to a social media platform depicting alleged acts of animal cruelty.
Following a joint investigation by officers attached to Barrier Police District and the Rural Crime Prevention Team, police executed a search warrant at a house in Broken Hill at 4.00pm on April 1.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and issued a Court Attendance Notice for five counts of torture, beat and cause prolonged suffering to an animal.
The man is expected to appear at Broken Hill Local Court on Tuesday May 13.
