On Monday the May 12, 2025 officers attached to Hay Highway patrol stopped a white Ford Ranger on Lachlan Street, Hay.
The driver, a 25 year old man from Orange produced a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine and cocaine he was provided with a 24 hour prohibition from driving.
Police subjected the vehicle to a search, throughout the search police located two vials of what police to believe to be steroids and secured in a locked safe under the drivers seat police located 359.1 grams of cocaine. Police estimate the items to have an approximate street value of over $140,000.
The driver was arrested and conveyed to Hay Police station where he was charged with a number of offences including supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity) and posses prescribed restricted substance.
The man was bail refused to face Leeton Local court where he was also refused bail to appear at Griffith Local court at a later date.
