Carrathool Shire Project update - Hillston, and Carrathool Boat Ramps

A report to Carrathool Shire Council’s February meeting listed the delays being experienced in finalising the Hillston and Carrathool boat ramps.

“At present the projects are waiting for approval from the Griffith Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) as they have a land claim over the sites,” the report read. 

“The Department of Fisheries will not issue a permit to proceed without approval.”

During the meeting General Manager Rick Warren said he had been trying to get the LALC on-site to undertake an inspection.

“We have been trying to get them on site, but tying them down is proving difficult,” Mr Warren said.
