Fun and fishing at Balranald’s 2025 Murrumbidgee Fishing Classic

The Murrumbidgee Fishing Classic of 2025 started out with rain, but not for long.


The day quickly became an ideal day for fishing with lots of personality on the waters. 

The fun kept going during the scrumptious dinner provided by the fabulous catering team of the Balranald Football Netball Club, and raffle winners were also announced and presented with their awesome prizes. 


Entry Prize winners are: 

Senior Boat

  1. Winner: Zach White,
  2. Second prize: Chris Salter,
  3. Third prize: Nicole Kelsey,


Junior Boat

  1. Winner: Tripp Briscoe,
  2. Second prize: Lane Lynas,
  3. Third prize: Addison Papa.


Junior Length overall native

  1. Winner: Charlie Barke with 180 cm,
  2. Second: Aron Jew with 145 cm,
  3. Third: Caleb Mitchell with 137 cm.


Junior Yellowbelly

  1. Winner: Taylor Thomson with 56 cm.
  2. Second: Caleb Davis with 46cm,
  3. Third: Aaron Jew with 41 cm.


Senior Cod

  1. Winner: Dom Gervasi with 71 cm,
  2. Second: Levi Ryan with 66cm,
  3. Third: Luigi Gervasi with 64.5cm.


Senior Yellowbelly

  1. Winner: Kane Charles with 55cm,
  2. Second: Julie Martin with 50cm,
  3. Third: Ryan Coates with 47 cm.


The biggest Carp winner was Levi Ryan with 82cm.


Live entertainment for Saturday night's dinner event was a young talent from Mildura, Will Hogan.

The Balranald Football Netball Club's hard-working committee and many tireless volunteers helped make the event run smoothly.
