It's getting to be that time of year again. Time to put your thinking caps on and nominate those who have done great things in the Balranald shire this past year.
As part of the Australia Day festivities, Balranald Shire Council recognises the achievements of members of community members for their contributions during the previous year and calls for nominations.
This is your chance to recognise the most deserving members of our community.
Council recognises its citizens through nominations from community members in the following categories:
Citizen of the Year – Presented to the most outstanding Citizen
Young Citizen of the Year – Presented to the most outstanding Citizen aged under 30 years
Sportsperson of the Year – Presented for outstanding achievement in sport
Young Sportsperson of the Year– Presented for outstanding achievement in sport
Sporting Team of the Year – Presented for outstanding team achievement in sport
Environmental Citizen of the Year – Presented for preserving the environment, innovative use of the Return and Earn Scheme to fund raise for a meaningful cause, or fostering partnerships that achieve litter reduction and recycling outcomes.
Individuals and organisations including schools, local businesses and community groups are eligible.
Special Achievement Award – (in any field of endeavour)
Community Event – Presented to the person or group who has staged an outstanding community event during the previous year
Nomination Form – Australia Day Template 2025 – or hard copies are available at Councils office.
